Maarjamaa Risti V klassi teenetemärk

Yesterday (February 26, 2011) I was at the Estonian Embassy in Stockholm handed the decoration that I has been awarded earlier this year by the President of Estonia. The decoration was The Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana, 5th class. According to the excellent website where all receivers of decorations are listed, I got it because I have Promoted relations between Estonia and Sweden. The Ambassador of Estonia, Mr Alar Streimann, that handed over the decoration, in the presentation of me mentioned a number of things, including the 2007 incident where I together with a number of others outside and inside of Estonia worked together.

Invitation to reception at Estonian Embassy

Invitation to reception at Estonian Embassy

Some swedish people that got the decoration this year got it in January when the Estonian President was in Stockholm, but some could not participate then. They where called to this 2nd meeting that also was part of a reception due to Republic of Estonia calibrating their national day. Example of the about ten people gathering was Göran Persson, Lena Hjelm-Wallen, Bo Lundgren and myself. Although the reason I was called to this meeting was that they had problems finding my postal address so they knew where to send the invitation.
